The 5th graders had a blast during the UGA Ice Hockey visit.  Students participated in a hockey shoot out and played a little 3-on-3.  Although UGA has had an ice hockey team for 27 years this is their first year having their own ice rink at the Classic Center. We have been practicing soccer skills like  kicking, passing, trapping, and dribbling.   The Kindergartners loved playing Treasure Island! Parter Pin Knock Down is always a hit with the older students. 

GET OUT AND GET MOVING! Join us at Mustang Trotters on Tuesday afternoons beginning in October.  Mustang Trotters is an after school walking/running club that promotes an active lifestyle. Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 can participate; parents are welcome to join the fun too! Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet in Friday Folders, September 26.

The 2014-2015 school year has gotten off to a great start!  It is great to see old and new faces this year. We are having a blast learning new things in PE.  In K-2 we are learning and reviewing personal space and locomotor skills.  The students love being in their spaceship bubble when playing Spaceship Tag. In 3-5 we are doing Team Building activities.  We are learning about the importance of teamwork, communication, and cooperation.  It's great for kids to know how to work together and problem solve. They really enjoyed working together during our Shipwreck game.

** FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ** Field Day is quickly approaching and we need lots of enthusiastic volunteers to help run stations.  Field Day is Wednesday, May 21.  Volunteers should report to the gym at 8am where you can sign up for a station of your choice.  All activities will be finished by 12 noon.  High school students are welcome to help.  Lunch and class parties will follow, feel free to spend the day.  We look forward to seeing you and your help is greatly appreciated!  Thank you! Get excited about Field Day Wednesday, May 21! It will be a fun day filled with games, competitions, and yummy snacks. Be sure to get a Field Day T-shirt T-shirts are $10 and order forms are  due Friday, May 2. **T-shirts also come in ORANGE

We raised $3,480.25!  We did not reach our goal of $4000, but we were very close.  I am really proud of our students.  Way to go Mustangs!  Thank you for helping raise money for kids with sick hearts.
