I am excited for the start of a new school year! It's fun to see familiar faces and I look forward to meeting our new students. 2015-2016 is going to be a great year! In PE, we learn about the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We always have a great time in PE playing games and learning new skills. A few things to know about PE: PE Rotation - Students have PE every other day (i.e. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, etc.) Dress Code - tennis shoes and comfortable clothes to move around; girls should wear shorts under skirts and dresses. The following shoes are NOT good for PE: crocs, flip flops, high heels, boots, sandals. Health Concerns - If your child needs to be restricted from participating in any physical activity, please send a note from you or your child's physician in order to be excused. Recently in PE in grades K, 1, and 2 we've been learning about and practicing jumping, hopping, and leaping. The students always enjoy the jump, hop, and leap circuit as well as playing Leaping Lizard. We have been practicing volleyball skills in grades 3, 4, and 5. The students practiced the bump, set, spike, and underhand serve.
