Mustang Trotters

We had another great year in Mustang Trotters!  77 students participated and enjoyed exercising with their friends. We look forward to seeing you next fall! Stay active! CONGRATULATIONS to our Golden Horseshoe winners: Millie Durham (4th grade) - 79 miles Isabel Miller (3rd grade) - 78 miles   Millie and Isabel jogged at Mustang Trotters AND logged miles outside of Trotters, which is fantastic and exemplifies a healthy, active lifestyle. Great job girls!

Overhand Throw

Recently in PE, we have been learning about and practicing the overhand throw.  We use an overhand throw when the target is far away.  It is important to know how to throw when playing baseball, softball, or football.  The pictures below show some of the students' favorite overhand throwing games. Bumper Ball Students are divided into 2 teams.  Target balls of various sizes are set up on the middle line.  Students use the overhand throw to try and bump the target balls to roll over the other teams' throwing line.  Once all the target balls have crossed the line they are scored; the team that bumped the most balls across the line wins.  The giant pink ball always adds excitement to the game! Angry Birds Another fan favorite is Angry Birds.  Students are divided into 2 teams.  Each team throws "angry birds" at the other teams' pig pens.  Guards block angry birds from knocking down the pig pens. Whichever team knocks down all the pig pens, win
