Welcome Back!

The 2014-2015 school year has gotten off to a great start!  It is great to see old and new faces this year.

We are having a blast learning new things in PE.  In K-2 we are learning and reviewing personal space and locomotor skills.  The students love being in their spaceship bubble when playing Spaceship Tag.

In 3-5 we are doing Team Building activities.  We are learning about the importance of teamwork, communication, and cooperation.  It's great for kids to know how to work together and problem solve.
They really enjoyed working together during our Shipwreck game.

Climbing Wall, Striking, and More....

Recently in PE.... We have been doing climbing wall and learning about how it helps our bodies.  Climbing wall helps our bodies in many ways: builds muscular strength and muscular endurance builds confidence increases focus and concentration increases balance and flexibility builds grip strength In K-2 we worked on climbing up and down the wall as well as traverse (sideways or across).  Grades 3-5 are more experienced climbers so we added challenges like moving a ball from a high to low position while climbing. In grades K-2 we learned various hula hoop tricks and practiced bowling skills. In grades 3-5 we have been working on striking skills. We discussed how to strike the ball and how force plays a role in striking. As well, we discussed the importance of agility, being in the ready position, and moving our feet to the ball. I am excited for the start of a new school year!  It's fun to see familiar faces and I look forward to meeting our new students. 2017-2018 is going to be a great year!  In PE, we learn about the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We always have a great time in PE playing games and learning new skills.    A few things to know about PE: PE Schedule  - 2017-2018 Activity Schedule              * Make sure to click on the correct grade level tab at the bottom Dress Code  - tennis shoes and comfortable clothes to move around; girls should wear shorts under skirts and dresses.
