Team Jersey Day & Fitness Stations!

We all wore our favorite team jerseys on Wednesday.  All the kiddos looked so cute wearing their team colors.

In K-2, we've been learning about locomotor and non-locomotor skills.  We practiced both skills in our fitness stations today.

Plank Pick-ups: Students are in a plank position and pick up one beanbag at a time and drop it into a crate; they alternate hands as well. This exercise builds strong upper body and core muscles and is fun all at the same time!
Ski Jumps:  Students stand beside a line, put both feet together, bend their knees, and swing their arms to jump side to side over the line.  This exercise gets their heart beating fast, which is an example of cardio exercise.

Stretch and Bend: Students pass a ball while stretching up and back and then bend over and pass the ball between their legs.  This is a great exercise to work on flexibility.
Crab Walking: Students move low to the floor on their hands and feet.  This locomotor exercise builds strong muscles and is challenging.
